And also, since were talking stories here, at work, there is a bus that picks up employees and takes them to the parking lot.

Sure enough, one of our workers was looking the wrong way as a bus came up to the stop and smacked him in the head. Down he went, but he got back up. Got checked out and everything was, A OK. Oh, and he wasn't wearing a helmet either.

Another story. A few years ago a well known cycling advocate was riding home from work one day when a passing trucks mirror smacked him in the back of his helmeted head. Little difference in speeds between the two, but the advocate died from his head injury.

It happens. Helmets don't always save lives. Telling stories is not always the best way to go about understanding things. Sometimes it makes sense to look at a more balanced, fair, and properly executed study to see things a little more clearly.

Too bad dry studies don't make as exciting reading as telling stories does. We'd be better off if they did.
