UK Dahon Spares update

After months of users complaining that they can't get spares for older Dahons, Mark Bickerton has posted an update on the Dahon website, partially reproduced here:

"...As for spares support in the UK, it is indeed the case that C H Whites have taken over the heritage spares stock for UK sold Dahon pre-2010 Bikes. They have a very comprehensive website www.dahonspares.co.uk and will happily supply spares at sensible retail pricing.

All historical warranty has been taken over by Zyro, and within a month they should have a complete inventory of Dahon spares and accessories for 2010 models. All warranties for previous year bikes are being dealt with on a case by case basis. So far since Zyro started in January, they have been able to resolve all spares requests either from their own inventory, or through support from Dahon Global."

So you want a bit for that older scoot, CH Whites may have it.

The post follows a series of moans about cracked frames, and the inability of punters to get past the 'I've lost my receipt and didn't register for the Dahon Lifetime Frame Warranty' stage. No receipt - no evidence of contract, no evidence of liability, which in UK law is down to the dealer. (A credit card bill should work)

It may also address the problem that when you buy a bike from a large UK chain like Halfords, requests for Dahon parts results in stares like you've just arrived from Saturn.

Keep those reciepts, you guys.

Good news, we hope, for UK Dahoneers.
