I did Whiteface while we were there. (not the race) I made the loop to through Lake Saranac and Lake Placid and back to Wilmington. I was glad to have a triple that day. All in all I put 2300 miles on the old Felt that Summer. Got rained on lots too, but it's a great place to ride. We stayed at The North Pole Campground in Wilmington till after the USA Ironman. Then went up to Chazy, just above Plattsburg NY. If you stay at the N.P.C. watch out for the owner's wife. She can be a pistol. I didn't have any issues with her but several others did. Good luck on Whiteface.
