Mostly, I was pointing out splytz1's comment. He said that wikipedia doesn't prove that any comment is offensive, and my point to him is that non-proof of existence is not proof of non-existence. I'd rather not be cast into a giant lot of people who are cheap or dishonest, which is a very negative stereotype.
It was jtgotsjets who made that comment, not me. I was the one who posted the wikipedia link in the first place (which maybe I shouldn't have done).
In my original post, I may have reacted too strongly. I have not been terribly offended by this thread at all. It's pretty mild. But after those couple of comments (when I first posted), I saw it
potentially going down a road, which, maybe thanks to the class and character of this community, it did not.
