Does it make a difference if you're on a HT or FS?

I don't do big jumps (I'm too much of a chicken *****), but on small jumps or drop-offs I try to land both wheels at the same time or get the front down just before the rear. I feel I have worse control if the rear hits first, followed by the front slamming down while the rear suspension is rebounding. Seems smoother to get both to hit at the same time.
