What's for breakfast...? Bike commuters?
I've been debating whether this is more appropriate for this forum, or for the commuter one ... but there are some special considerations for Clydes and Athenas, so I'll ask here. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and while most of us are trying to lose weight, we're all aware that you don't want to trick your body into thinking it's starving.
There's a deli on the ground level of the building I work in, but they're closing their doors tomorrow. I've been relying on them for a breakfast sandwich and an americano, but 'tis no more. I'm not a morning person, so getting out of bed is difficult for me, and I put this off until I have exactly enough time to shower, dress, and jump on the bike. Then I ride in, about five miles, and mostly up hill ( makes for a fun ride home! ), and eat at my desk.
I'm thinking about buying a box of instant oatmeal, and making due with the drop coffee in the brake-room ... but this is not appealing. What do other Clydes and Athenas who commute by bike do for breakfast? I'm sure a lot of you eat at home, which isn't something I'm going to do, but hopefully there will be some good ideas I haven't considered. If I'm lucky, someone will even give me a suggestion that's healthier and yummier than what I'm doing today...?
So what's your breakfast of champions?
