I've currently got a front brake on my fixie and I'm trying to see if I don't have to use it, so I've been doing a good bit of skidding. I worry about my back tire (but I know that's part of skidding with them, so w/e). I see tons of hipsters on campus riding fixies, in two years I've only seen one actually demonstrate that he knew how to skid stop. Like I said I'm trying to see if I can get away without using a brake (I will never go 100% brakeless, I like the saftey net there) but how much skidding is too much? Is there such a thing? It just feels somewhat obnoxious to me, haha.
