Never used one but VO is a great company who will stand behind their products. I have used YST and they work, but they do not last terribly long, and I even had a new one come straight from the box with play in the bearings and no adjustment potential to fix it. But for $12 or whatever they cost (definitely under $20) you could replace it every couple of years if you had to. They are better than throwing a frame away!
You will be replacing the YST every few weeks if you actually ride your bike. Not years. A $60 b.b that seems to put more emphasis on aesthetics than on function, yeah I wouldn't be surprised if it sucked. It's quite hard to make a bottom bracket that sucks more than the YST, that being said.
