Here's my rig loaded up for my first bike-packing adventure, a 5 day ride on the NCT from White Cloud to Mackinaw City. Unfortunately I had to bail out day 3 in Kalkaska, due to tweaking my knee in an attempt to prevent a crash.

The rack and trunk have since been replaced with a Banjo Brothers large seat bag (400 c/i), and today I'll be picking up a much larger Camelbak Ventoux to replace the current pack. Bedroll (fleece bag liner, space blanket, Big Agnes airbed) goes up front. Tent poles and pegs strap to the toptube. Tent body and fly, and cooking kit (beer can alcohol stove) go in the seat bag. Food, clothes for nighttime, extra socks and shorts, first aid and other incidentals will go in the pack. For that photo, the extra clothes and some food were in the trunk.

This weekend, I'll be doing a 3 day trip from just outside of Traverse City, up the NCT to Mackinaw, and then the Gaylord to Mackinaw rail trail and dirt roads back.

Here's an action shot near Sweet's Ravine (South of Mesick).
