Then that's a coincidence. ItsJustMe is right about Quicktime (and AVI, MKV, etc.) just being containers, and you can put good video in that container or you can put crap in it.

My Rebel T1i outputs in .mov (Quicktime) format, and yet the video is great. (It's not a small digital camera so it's not what this thread is about, but I'm just saying -- it takes great video and saves in Quicktime format. (And no, I don't need Quicktime installed to play it or manipulate it.)
