My outdoor riding time has been cut down considerably with the triplets being 12 week old
I have a newborn that has cut into my riding time and I can only imagine the situation with triplets. If you go with a trainer then consider investing in a heavy duty rear skewer for trainer use only (that + the tires gets the most abuse). Rollers will be closer to the 'feel of the road' but cost more.

quality is more important than price.
Go get the E-motion rollers. They have a wide power range, are much easier to ride than Kreitlers, are very well made, and allow you to stand up and/or watch videos (Spinnervals, etc.) without a lot of practice. Rollers have minimal impact on the bike & it's parts.
