As an Ohio native, I spent my formative years riding around the NE OH roads and byways. While that part of the country doesn't have anything resembling a mountain climb, there's plenty of rollers. It's beautiful land to ride through, not boring at all. The SE part of Ohio gets interesting around Columbiana county and the Beaver Creek State park region, where the land begins to look more like WV with long, deep rollers.
My first lengthy organized group ride (2 days, 120 miles) at age 13 was through the Maumee River valley with family friends.

Yeah, my favourite rides have definitely been heading to the SE... You got some steep hills down there, so much fun!
