This one sounds like an excellent idea.

Or as mentioned to start a "C" group, or suggest that they start an "A" group.

It would be annoying if you have been riding in a group for a long time and new people turn up pointing to something that was written on a website somewhere a couple of years ago (for example- no idea how organised this group is).

Our group has about 40-50 riders, and we plan rides with someone putting one up on a forum every week (http://forums.delphiforums.com/ARCers/start) - however I don't see many of the riders because I choose to do the more challenging rides. On larger rides, I don't push the pace and wait as needed. If I post a "fast ride" or turn up to one titled "pain train" then I neither wait nor expect anyone to wait - you keep up or you get dropped. Are there no more local groups you could ride with or locals you could look for? Driving for 45 minutes to get to a ride sounds funny to me - but I am blessed for being 1/2 ride hour away from beach side riding and 1 ride hour away from nice hills with good cycling roads in between.
