As ItsJustMe said, it's a great way of keeping track of which batteries are good and which are rubbish. I've actually been doing all the batteries around the house this week, and have found several dud Eneloops, including one in my taillight.
This, and also I may not have been clear that I also take a quick look every time I charge a set, to see how much charge went into each cell. If I used a whole set together and one cell takes significantly more charge than the others, it's probably not happy anymore.
