I was the promoter for the Sprint Into Spring and also planned to race the women's 40+ / CAT 4 race and the women's 1/2/3
As the promoter.. I got ZERO warm up.. and had very little eat before hand... jumped on the bike right before the my first race... sat in the first two laps.. the first Prime I cranked it up to open the legs... won the Prime.. then pulled off and stupidly let a gap open up.. chased for like 8 laps.. but slowly worked my way back to the field... Made a deal with a gal I race with a lot... knew they would set up a train... grabbed her wheel with one to go... she took the fastest line through the turn.. and launched me right at the 200m mark... I was gone....
WON with a 3 / 4 bike length gap!!!
Second race.. just hung on the field for as long as I could.. got lapped.. but at least I was not DFL a couple of other gals we lapped as well and I made sure I beat them to the line..
