We had 3.5 inches of rain yesterday. Fortunately I drove. It was showering heavily when I left for work and pouring on the way home. The rain continued until the early morning hours today, so I slept in and left for work a hour later than usual when the rain had finally stopped.

What a difference a hour makes. Traffic was much heavier, and I actually got buzzed by some jerk in my own neighborhood. Leaving my house, I have four 90-degree turns within the first 0.2 mile. The jerk got behind me and apparently wasn't happy that he couldn't pass me right away and it slowed him down by 5 seconds on his morning commute. He finally sped around me, leaving about 6" to spare. Never mind that there are kids walking to school.

Despite the bad start, I had a great commute with a tailwind almost the entire way.
