I haven't noticed an option to report errors, I see a lot of the MUP trails here missing parts and the city's pdf map from their web site is complete, I'd like to report a few.
I downloaded the android update when it came out but its been raining here or we've all been sick so I haven't gotten to try it yet
If you're in Google Maps on the web, there's a link at the bottom right of the map portion of the screen that reads "Report a problem". Click there and away you go!

Using the normal web page I submitted several bike paths that I use in the area. Google first sent me an e-mail stating that they had received my submission. Then a few days later I got an e-mail that I was right, there was a bike path there. And a few days after that I got an e-mail that the bike path had been added to the map. WooHoo!
That's been my experience, too. The more we notice and send them, the better resource it will be.
