You need to check out your teammate's post regarding SRM battery life.
And FWIW there are a bunch of guys I know who change out their own SRM batteries. But they are soldering geeks.
I did look long and hard at the Quark recently. I bought a used SRM Dura VI for $2500 with a couple of extra bottom brackets and speed sensors instead.
