I like these updates. There's always something a little more interesting going on in bike commutes.

I usually do a 1.7 mile bike ride to the train station, then 26 miles on the train, then 0.6 or so walk or shuttle bus. Takes about an hour. Today, I decided to take a longer way in to work. I drove to Libertyville about 10 miles, and rode in the rest of the way, about 16 miles. Took the north shore bike path that mostly parallels US 41. I had to park in a bank parking lot in Libertyville, and I think I might get towed or a ticket. But there is no place to park in that godforsaken town for more than 4 hours. Next time, I'll try a town further north that isn't so hoity-toity.

I have never felt so good at work in the morning. I averaged 14 mph, which is 2 faster than my usual rides, and managed to finally crack 30 mph on the TriCross on one nice hill. (I was going only 5 mph up the other side, hehehe)

I can deal with a $15 parking ticket, but I hope they don't tow me, as that costs $150 and they mess cars up.

Beautiful day. It was 45°F when I left the house at 6:20 and over 60°F when I arrived at 8:50. I'm looking forward to the ride home, even if it is late.

Forgot my belt, so I look like kind of a rube here.
