You're indeed very fortunate that your wife can ride with you.

If she starts to outride you too often, buy a tandem and she can be your supercharger!!

Due to medical issues my wife has had to give up cycling as of this season and it's doubtful she can ever return to the bikes. She had even asked me to modify our tandem to suit her better before the health issues came up.
