Safety nannies like yourself never seem to understand this.
My only comment about a helmet was that I can't imagine a reason to not wear one, with the level of comfort they currently have. I have shared the reasoning. Not to be crass, nor un-caring, but I have never, nor will I ever be in favor of any sort of regulation on adults on this issue. One of the rights we have as adults is to make decisions. I personally don't see a good reason not to wear one. I can quote you a bunch of people here going on about rotational injuries, them making you ride more agressively, etc, but I have simply stated if I am to hit pavement, I think it makes sense to put a layer of something between myself and the pavement, perferrably something that will absorb impact.

As to what anyone else does, whatever. I wouldn't begrudge someone doing any activity the way they want, regardless of danger. It's each persons life, and choice, but I surely wouldn't come to a forum and argue how safe cliff diving is, and how people suggesting I check the water depth below are idiots.
