Explain why dismounting a bike and walking with it for the length of a school bus is not "respectable." I simply don't see it. I'm not arguing with you, I simply don't see what the concern is. How is that any different, for instance, from dismounting a bicycle at a busy signal to push the Walk button and then walking a bicycle across the street, then remounting and riding on? Is that acceptable? If so, why is dismounting to walk past a loading school bus not acceptable?

As for having to walk past students mounting or dismounting, I don't see it as making a difference either way, but every time I have dismounted and walked past a school bus, the bus (and students) were on the other side of the street.
