The irony in using gasoline on our bicycles is funny to me.

That being said, I remove the chain and soak it in a heavy solution of simple green. Then I hang it from a fence, and if its really dirty I'll hose it down with scrubbing bubbles and then scrub that in with an old toothbrush. I then wash it with the hose, dry it out, reinstall on the bike, and then re-lube with rock & roll gold.
