You missed my point entirely, yet again. Cars can and do hit things other than bicycles. Those situations make automobile travel risky. I'd venture that if you look at accident data on your "busy road with no bike lanes", you'll find that people in automobiles are in more danger overall simply because there's more automobiles around to hit each other and stationary objects along the way.
