The $10k your city would spend on adding "Share the road" signs is a joke. They might as well say, "Nail the cyclists."...

Our city spent $120,000,000 for a 10-15 miles freeway upgrade several years ago, which included adding more (car) lanes and some bridge work. So $1 million per mile for bike lanes is probably not out of the question. Maybe even reasonable.

Where will the money come from? Two choices: 1) raise taxes or 2) borrow the money from the Chinese and hope they forget to ask for it back.
Well the State will more than likely not fund the mandate but I still wonder what makes it so expensive? Even for regular roadway they can’t be spending that much on paint.
I should feel gratified that there seems to be a minor victory for the cause but darn that sounds like a lot of graft must be getting paid somewhere. Toss the sign idea out or not 10k for signs is still overpriced. But they seem willing to pay so I guess I could Ostrich?
