Bikes: 2008 Novara Randonee - love it. Previous bikes:Motobecane Mirage, 1972 Moto Grand Jubilee (my fave), Jackson Rake 16, 1983 C'dale ST500.

Although it seems you have already made the right decision, you and others looking to help a woman with a bike purchase should keep in mind that on average women have shorter torsos and arms than the average man, making top tube and stem length critical for women. Smaller hands also make levers important as well, especially on a road bike. Whether for a male or female make sure that seat position is determined correctly before making adjustments for reach to the bars. It is not acceptable to move the seat forward to reduce reach.
