Was at my parents house this weekend and noticed Dad had dragged out my brother's old Nishiki International. Not sure of the year, but it's in pretty decent shape. Just needs some cleaning up, rust removal, etc.

I could be very tempted to put a 3 speed IGH on this thing and make a 2x6 flat bar bike for around town and riding with the kids. Worth it? Not worth it? Any other ideas?

My impression is this is not a super collectable bike, right? But good enough quality to clean up and ride.
