When you take the time to actually fill out the Competitive Cyclist calculator with equivalent parts (ie the same front derailleur at 31.8)

it ends up like this

DA 2180g and $1574
Record 2185g and $1444

Why anyone would pay an extra $130 for DA is beyond me.
