I'm wondering what to make of the general approach by those cyclists not named Lance Armstrong implicated by Landis' allegations. Nobody seems to be coming out and saying Landis is a flat out liar and that they never doped. This includes Zabriskie, Levi, Hincapie. Hincapie seems to be taking the Mark McGwire approach ("I'm not going to talk about the past," but instead focus on the here and now). Perhaps they are calculating that laying low or ignoring the allegations is the best way to go?
One exception - and this carries some weight with me, as I think he's an honest fellow - Michael Barry (who is a good friend of George's), essentially says Floyd's whole statement is rubbish. Perhaps he wasn't privy to everything, or perhaps Floyd's referring to a time period when he wasn't on the squad. I'm really not sure what the facts are. It sure would be nice if cycling could put this behind us, once and for all.
