While at the ToC yesterday and walking around between circuits, a bike fell over with a gust a wind as I walked past. I went over to pick it up at the same time as the owner. The bike was the latest C offering from Motobecane. Built up with Ultegra, I couldn't help but notice how truly nice it was. I explained that I owned the AL frame version for a time, and while the AL frame design itself was rather pedestrian, this CF frame was quite nice. A lot of engineering went into it. His response was, "It's alright for what it is." The unspoken message was, "Yes, I know it's a Motobecane, bought off the internet from BD. Whatever." See what BF has done?
Speaking of falling over, I witnessed two non-pro cyclists falling over while on the climb. One slowed too much to avoid hitting someone and the other one shifted and his chain got stuck between cogs, and they both couldn't get their feet out in time. The first one was on the ground for quite some time as he couldn't unclip, even with the help of some bystanders, and the other was gently lowered to the ground by a passerby.
