The fact that he can gain access by being one of the best cyclist in history is a huge plus. It would be tragic if this "awareness" is derailed by the misuse of a cancer drug.
Greg,
This is what I'm talking about. I've never heard what you've stated. The "awareness" you speak of seems to be a slightly different focus of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. This is first sentence on the home page taken directly from the livestrong.org: "
We fight to improve the lives of people affected by cancer." (This is a somewhat different focus from

More from the livestrong.org site: "
We empower the cancer community to address the unmet needs of cancer survivors. To do so, we encourage collaboration, knowledge-sharing and partnership. Then, we develop evidence-based solutions to address both the common and unique problems survivors are facing around the world.
Livestrong Survivorcare is free, confidential support for anyone affected by cancer.
Platforms and Priorities: We've worked to identify the issues faced by cancer survivors in order to comprehensively improve quality of life for members of the global cancer community."
My point is that despite all of this talk about Lance raising "cancer awareness", people still don't understand what the hell he's talking about. Go to livestrong.org and learn about it before running around talking about all the great stuff he's done in the fight against cancer. Now I'm sure Lance is all for finding a cure for cancer just like every other human being on the planet. But his foundation has a goal. And its stated right on the homepage. Its to improve lives of cancer survivors. Hence the name "Livestrong."
This is what pisses off a lot of people regarding the blind, lemminglike Lance followers. People talk about all the great stuff Lance has done regarding him fighting against cancer. When they don't even understand the goal of the foundation. Sure its all part of the big fight against cancer. But people blindly regurgitate stuff without learning the facts. I wonder how many BF members here have actually gone to livestrong.org and read about it?
