it is no surprise to me if a woman or oldie overtakes me.

I find that out on the road women and old people are hardly ever slow. some young men are out there riding without much enthusiasm just interested in the posing but women and oldies usually only do it because they really love it and put a lot into it. The times I see women or oldies is either coming the other way or passing me. i can't think of a time when i chased down and then overtook a woman (i mean roadie not commuter) but then again i am a bit heavy. As for oldies, the ones i overtake are so old it is amazing they are even riding.
