I know that I'm gonna get flamed, but I just have to say it:

I find efforts like the one described in the article to be naive, pointless and narcissistic. Riding your bike is going to suddenly cause the world to become peaceful? C'mon... I ain't buying what this guy is selling. I have a much more cynical view... and I see a guy who wants to have a grand adventure and write a book about himself. He even said it in the article. And he's plucking people's heartstrings with "world peace" to get money to continue having his great adventure. Who can say "no" to world peace? Pass the hat... quick... while the crowd is mushy!

Did anyone pay attention to the article? The guy has been attacked simply because he was carrying a flag that the native population didn't like. Nice. Strike a great blow for world peace... bah.
