they are a micro abrasive. on a wear item like tires, i wouldn't worry about it.

i wouldn't be about to go using those with frequency on a nice part like a saddle unless i wanted the saddle to get worse and worse with time. obviously, it depends on whether the saddle is leather, vinyl, or a different synthetic. for something absorbent like leather, i'd sooner use bleach than magic erasers.
