white priviledge and racism, while not as blatently appearent as 30 years ago, is still very much a part of how this country works and operates. most white people say they aren't racist but how many white middle class schools have black or hispanic teachers. and when they do have a minority teacher, how long do they last on the job? its not overt but its still there. and this does go along with the discussion in that the majority of road bicycle club members are white and middle to upper class. since when has being white ever been a disadvantage in this country? how many white people are migrant workers? road clubs come off, and rightly so, as exclusive clubs for those who can afford to join the fun.
