Not biking is expensive and elitist, bike racing is. But only to the ones who're willing to shell out 3k-8k for a race bike.

You can win bike races on a 500$ bike just as well as on a 5000$ bike, or are you now trying to mandate that the training hours that bike racers put in are now limited as well? And how many Oreo's they can eat so the playing field is level?

Cat5: 185lbs body mass, 6ft high with a drag coefficient of > 0.15
Cat5light: 155lbs body mass, 6ft high with a drag coefficient of < 0.15
Cat5superlight, less than 6 hours training per week: 140lbs body mass, 6ft high

etc etc etc

Pretty stupid.

Solution to not winning: Train harder.
