I've played all kinds of card games and the culture is very, very different.
In Bridge cheating is very much frowned upon. There have been instances of high level cheating, but such activity is reviled. When playing Bridge I advert my eyes if there is a chance to gain an unfair advantage.
At the opposite end is Euchre. In that game cheating is to be expected. Cleaver cheating is admired. I used to see all of my partners cards in the reflection off of his TV screen when I played in college. We always kicked ass. (He never knew this, BTW.)
Bridge is like golf.
Pro cycling is much more like Euchre.
Maybe things will change, but I'm not holding my breath.
Great use of Euchre. I used to play that game for hours on end in college. Got to the point that you could play the first round and then lay them down because you all knew who had what and how they were going to play them. All without saying a word. Outsiders would always be amazed.....and yes we used to steal the deal and cheat like mofos and it was accepted.
