There's a reason the NFL (and MLB in particular) have incredibly powerful players unions. The unions collectively bargain with owners and the league to make things mutually beneficial. If well run, everyone prospers.
In cycling is there such collective bargaining? Is there such a unionesque shield from the whims of testing and sponsor pressure? Each cyclist is left to hang in the breeze when the deal goes down.
