Speaking as a woman, you don't have to have a "woman's specific" bike unless you're a great deal shorter than average. A lot of the "woman's specific" stuff is just marketing and paint colours. I have a short torso and long legs, so I just get a shorter stem and maybe shorter brifter levers. It's more important to compare geometry among bikes than to buy a bike based on whether or not it's for a woman.
