At that point I was just getting way to hot so I decided to ride SR100 the rest of the way back to the car. I went through almost both bottles of water and was still feeling way to hot when I got back to the van. The yellow flies weren't as bad as last time on the trail that was a plus. Overall a really nice ride. I rode 17.71 miles. With about 13 on the trails.

LindaN ... How was the riding out by Rodman Dam? The friend that I have been riding with lately used to fish out there all the time and said we should go riding out there sometime. I have rode on the road leading to the dam a few times, but that's about it. I do ride the road bike to the north side of the bridge over the barge canal, where I turn around. I would go further sometimes but that bridge is kind of scary to ride over.. NO shoulder and always lots of BIG TRUCKS...
We ended up taking sr19 up to the Rodeheaver Boys Ranch road, turned east and went to the Buckman Dam area. I think it was called the St Johns River South Trail. Had not been there before and was hoping you could go over the lock but not so. I wanted to go to the Greenways Trails center that is there but found out later they were closed. We rode the multi use trail that ran on the south side of the Barge Canal for just a few miles. Where there wasn't sand, there were lots of cactus. It was early afternoon and not much shade so we turned around and headed back to the parking area. We did drive over to Rodman Dam but didn't ride anymore. Took one of the forest roads back to 316 and actually got some pictures of some baby black bears climbing a tree next to the road. Pretty cool. Not many miles riding this weekend. Hopefully next weekend I will have my new mb. I am going to check out the site you posted for upcoming weekend rides. THanks! Here's a pic I got of the bears.
