If the owner treats his customers well in the store it doesn't matter how he is on rides. Maybe he rides to be alone after dealing with people all day. Maybe people constantly interrupt his training to ask him questions that could be asks while he's at the shop and working instead of enjoying his free time. Maybe he just doesn't like socializing outside of the shop. Maybe he has more important things on his mind than a random cyclist waving at him. Would you get mad if a cashier from a grocery store doesn't wave at you when he see's you at the movies? Just because they work somewhere you shop doesn't make them your friend.
