Okay I went by Goodwill today and was looking at the bikes and the manager comes by and says you can have that one for $12.99. Okay call me a sucker. I'm looking for a beater to ride to work on while I fix up my Fuji so for $12.99 I couldn't beat it with a stick.
What did I get? A Murray Wanderer. Not sure really how old it is. It looks hardly used at all (the previous owner would have probably have died of embarrasment). It's single speed with fenders and a sprung saddle but it has a df geometry instead of a curvey cruiser-like geometry. As soon as I got it home the only thing I did was pump up the tires and raise the seat and it was rideable. I'm tempted to think this thing isn't so old but for one thing, there isn't a single metric bolt or nut on it

(that is until I polted on a rack on back over the rear fender).
I know this isn't a great find like some of the sexy french or italian bikes. It's probably made of real gas pipes but it will serve as my wet weather beater and basic transportation while I create my celtic dream from a low end jap bike, but does anyone have any idea about just how old this thing might be?
