Even the smallest of objects can be highly detrimental when flung from a vehicle. Last year I got hit with a handful of pocket change. You might think, "Oh, how much can a few nickels really hurt?" But when they're thrown from a vehicle going the opposite direction on a 50mph road, the combined impact speed is over 60mph; I'm lucky none of them hit me in the eye or the mouth.
