That would be ideal, except the events are more than 80 miles apart and it would definitely be well into afternoon before I could hit the start line. I could do a solo ride the next day -- I've got a century tomorrow so it's not like I don't get to ride in groups or by myself as I like.

But trying to catch my buddy is fun. Last year, I just barely caught him less than 5 miles from the end. He decided to try to drop me since he figured my legs were toast, but I still had enough gas in the tank Though my prediction for this year was that I probably would suffer plenty and never catch him.
