Just some thoughts... I started at around 380lbs, with a Giant Suede DX - and I love it!!! 26" wheels are stronger than the same parts in a 300C wheel - even so, I just started breaking spokes on the rear wheel - seriously, no abuse of any kind!! Never a curb, and bumps of any kind saw me on the pedals and off the seat - still broke spokes.

Now, that said, it's more a question of the LBS you go to. At mine, Sam knew from the get-go how much I weighed, and what my plans were - and right now he is replacing the wheels via warrenty through Giant with something stronger (36 spoke to be sure) - Other than the wheels - I love the bike and it suits me.

If you bump yourself up to the Cypress "DX" version, you'll get better wheels...
