No, I use a night rider classic with the LED tail light that's powered from the main battery, I also use a second tail light, a battery powered cateye as a back up should one of them fail. Be seen and live. I find the night rider to be very effective, I have great visibility up front with the headlight on the lowest setting and I can be seen from the rear with tail light. I also wear reflective clothing. The system is three years old and has held up well, the battery holds up through my entire commute, both ways 18.5 miles each way, with power to spare. I put the battery on the charger when I get home, it takes about 2 hours to top it off.
