You haven't seen anything until you've been to Montreal

They use such substandard quality materials that even weeks after new roads are built the asphalt is full of cracks.

They never bother to maintain them so the cracks are never sealed. Snow removal equipement is so antiquated and city employees are so careless that the roads get shredded over the winter. Hopefully with the first North American ProTour event being held in September, they'll at least repair the roads that make up the course, including the wonderful climb up Mount Royal...
