Another vote for trying the Avatar & Alias.
I was pretty happy with my long-time Brooks B17, but decided to see what the ergonomics revolution had produced. So I bought a Toupe at an LBS with a 30-day exchange policy.
Then swapped it for an Avatar, and it was GREAT. But I got greedy and decided to swap it for an Alias, which I liked even better.
The old Brooks (which I thought was the end-all/be-all in comfort) turned out to be a taint-crusher by comparison. But @$$es are like faces; each one is unique and YMMV.
