Oplaine to side streets to St. Mary's to Old Elm/Everette to Skokie Trail. The Skokie trail runs from Rockland Rd now to Lake-Cook RD where you can connect to the North Branch at the Botanic Gardens a mile east. Connections are not great but what can you do.

The North Shore trail which is limestone and parallels Rockland RD also connects St. Mary's Rd to the Skokie Valley trail terminus.
