Pretty sure it's where the rubber feet sit on the car. If you have any kind of dirt or debris on the car or the feet, it's bound to happen. It's something I kind of saw coming so I keep a rag to wipe each off... then again, my trunk is already a little scratched up so I'm not terribly concerned.
